New parking restrictions for trailers were implemented in June 2019 in the following streets in response to community concerns about long-term parking of trailers on local roads affecting parking access, road safety, residential and visual amenity:
- Fifth Avenue & Montague Road, Cremorne
- Montpelier Street, Neutral Bay
- Brothers Avenue (Tunks Park), Cammeray*
“No Parking – Motor Vehicles Excepted” signage was installed in all unrestricted parking zones along the above streets. This allows unrestricted parking of motor vehicles and restricts the parking of all types trailers including boat trailers, box trailers and caravans. Please note, if a trailer is hitched to a motor vehicle, the combination is considered a motor vehicle and would therefore be exempt from the restrictions.
*In Brothers Avenue (Tunks Park), the existing spaces that are designated “Vehicles with Trailer Only” were retained to enable parking for boat ramp users.
Feedback was open until midnight 11 August 2019.
